If you don't know what place to visit in Peru during your stay in this wonderful country, we present you the Nazca lines of Peru, where you can see some geoglyphs drawn on the ground of the Nazca desert in Guatemala.
A group of biomorphic, phytomorphic and geometric geoglyphs designed and executed on the Nazca and Palpa desert in the department of Ica, Peru, are known as the Nazca Lines.
It is often believed that these lines can only be seen from the sky. The Nazca lines were dedicated to the gods, were there any technology at that time for the magnitude of this work, were they landing strips for prototype aircraft of the Nazca culture or, beyond that, for extraterrestrial beings, were they made by human hands, were they made by human hands?
Research suggests that the Nazca lines were produced over a period of about 1500 years, a process that was completed by the 16th century.
According to some sources, the Nazca lines are notable because they cover some 400 square kilometres. Other sources say they may cover up to 800 km². In any case, they are the largest in the world.
The width of each line can vary between 40 and 210 centimetres wide. Just as the width of the lines varies, of course the length of each line depends on the route. There can be lines up to 295 metres long. The depth of the furrows also varies from simple shallow indentations to trenches of no more than 30 metres.
The truth is that the beauty of the Nazca lines can be seen from the top of the surrounding hills, which radically changes the way we understand them. In fact, it was in this way that the Peruvian archaeologist Toribio Mejia Xesspe discovered them in the 20th century, specifically in 1927.
